Congratulations to Jim Payne of S&J Aggregates and Cathy Vega of Medina Regional Hospital, who won the ticket giveaway that took place on KCWM Radio.
The Medina County Fair has been going strong since 1980. The Medina County Fair and Carnival is held each year on the third weekend in September at the Hondo City Park and Fair Grounds. There are food booths, arts and crafts, free games, live music, antique tractors, and a rodeo, just to name a few. Learn more at www.medinacountyfair.org.
As some of you may know, Southwest Gulf Railroad is proud to support Relay for Life of Medina County, the community fundraising walk with all proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Society.

Southwest Gulf Railroad Company’s Cynthia Prieto presents JoAnn Neuman and Coach Gabe Cortez with a donation to the Hondo FCA’s 5K race.
Southwest Gulf Railroad Company is pleased to support the Hondo chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes with a $250 donation for the organization’s 5K race put on by Hondo High School. All proceeds of the race benefit Leadership Scholarships. The race takes place on April 26th, beginning and ending at the Hondo Owl Football Field. To learn more about the FCA, visit www.fca.org.

At its March 12, 2015 meeting, the Rotary Club of Hondo D’Hanis welcomed back Southwest Gulf Railroad Company’s Community Liaison Cynthia Prieto. Cynthia served as a member of the Rotary from 2006-2008. Cynthia looks forward to serving the community as a Rotarian!

Castroville and Hondo Chambers of Commerce, dozens of residents enjoy giveaways, food and refreshments at SGRR Open House
We were happy to host the Hondo and Castroville Chambers of Commerce, community groups, and residents during our ribbon-cutting ceremony and Open House for our new Hondo office this past Wednesday, March 4.
In response to the recent layoffs in the area, folks have been stopping by our Hondo office looking for jobs. We’re moving forward with The Medina Line, which will be a catalyst for new jobs for our residents when the construction phase of the project gets underway.
But in the meantime, we’re doing what we can to help out and we’ve partnered with Workforce Solutions of Alamo to promote current opportunities available in the greater San Antonio area through Vulcan Materials Company.
